Abdominal Hernia Symptoms

Abdominal hernias are a protrusion that is in the abdominal wall. This protrusion occurs when there is a weak area in the abdominal wall or when the abdominal muscles have become weakened. There are many different types of hernias – but this is considered to be the most common of them all.

In order to know how it should be treated you should first begin to understand what the problem is and how you are able to spot the symptoms. By knowing the symptoms of abdominal hernias you will have a better chance at catching it early on and treating it before the condition becomes worse.

During the early stages of this type of hernia there are usually no symptoms. The one thing about hernias is that even though you may be able to see them they may not necessarily cause any pain. Usually you will identify it by a bulge that will develop when you cough, lift heavy items, through old age, or when you become pregnant.

The person will notice a slight bulge that can become bigger over time as it develops. The way that they are felt depends on the person and how big the hernia has become. It may ne only uncomfortable or it may be extreme. The most common symptoms that can be felt as the condition progresses are:
