I had hernia surgery and now I found out I have to have inguinal hernia surgery. I read online there is a big lawsuit going on concerning the patches they use in the hernia repair procedure, what is hernia mesh patch and how do I know if it was used in my surgery?
The Bard Composix Kugel Mesh Patch is used to repair ventral (incisional) hernias caused by thinning or stretching of scar tissue that forms after surgery. The patch is placed behind the hernia defect through a small incision. The patch is then held open by a “memory recoil ring” that allows the patch to be folded for insertion and later spring open and lay flat once it is in place.

Doctors want to spare the patient as much discomfort as possible and provide for the fatest recovery so they do pick the best procedure to get the job done. The procedure he chooses will be based on the size of your hernia and position of the hernia.
